- The Pond Project
Twenty of Dominion’s staff got involved in Jersey Mencap’s Pond Project this year; the tranquil site which is leased from the National Trust for Jersey boasts a reservoir, woodland and marshland with an array of rare wildlife. The project helps Mencap’s clients to gain skills in conservation, safe use of tools and general work experience. The site is used by Jersey Mencap as a setting for their outdoor art sessions in the summer and also as an area that provides the opportunity for their Clients to learn valuable skills and gain confidence in working with others which will help them transition into employment in the future. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed their time working down at the Pond with Alex, Jersey Mencap’s Administrator, and the Clients who came along. All parties were very proud of how much was accomplished in the mornings work and Dominion is highly appreciative to Jersey Mencap for inviting their staff to engage with the Charity, we look forward to taking part again soon!
